In 2023, a United States Air Force official reportedly said that during a pc check, a simulated AI drone killed the human character operating it. On October 31, 2019, the United States Department of Defense's Defense Innovation Board revealed the draft of a report recommending principles for the ethical use of synthetic intelligence by the Department of Defense that will ensure a human operator would at all times have the ability to look into the 'black field' and perceive the kill-chain process.
