The series will follow five young reporters as they navigate their way on the presidential campaign trail, with big-name politicians expected to make cameos.
Scott Conroy, author of the Sarah Palin biography Sarah From Alaska, Peter Hamby, a former CNN correspondent who leads Snapchat's news division, and Todd Waldman also make up the creative forces behind the show, according to Variety.
Waldman, who ran the YouTube Red series Single By 30, is set to write the additional five scripts with Conroy - who co-created Embeds and penned the pilot for the series with Hamby.
Conroy and Hamby met during the 2008 presidential election while covering Palin and reportedly began talks on the project during that time.

This year, as election coverage became more magnified, the pair felt a scripted show was the best way to fill the need of exploring the campaign trail and the embedded journalists covering it.
The co-creators' representatives at the Creative Artists Agency made the connection with De Luca, who had a strong interest in politics, and Kelly, according to Variety.
Sources told Variety that Kelly, who is also represented by CAA, instantly clicked with De Luca over the project's subject matter.
Embeds is not Kelly's first hand at producing a scripted TV project as she is currently developing and producing the White House Drama The Residence alongside actor Kevin Spacey for FX.

Kelly had a landmark year in 2015, with her show The Kelly File the second-highest rated cable news program behind only Bill O'Reilly's The O'Reilly Factor, which also airs on Fox News.
She also recently landed the cover of Vanity Fair and moderated the Republican debate during the primaries, which earned massive national coverage in the days before with threats from Donald Trump that he might drop out, and he eventually did.
In February, she scored a reported $10million book deal in February with Harpers Collin. The book is set to be released in the fall before the election.
Before joining Fox, she was a general assignment reporter for WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C.
Prior to her career in television news, Kelly practiced law for nine years.
To focus on the show, Conroy will be leaving Vice's upcoming nightly news show for HBO and Hamby will continue at Snapchat, according to Variety.
As the forces behind Embeds work to actively cast leading roles, the show's first episode is slated to air by Election Day on November 8.
To date, the show may be the most high-profile production on Go90, which launched in the fall of 2015.
