Delta-8 is a cannabis-derived compound that in recent years, has gained massive popularity, and for good reason!

As a compound with strong similarities to marijuana’s main compound delta-9 THC, delta-8 THC has a reputation for triggering feelings of euphoria, happiness, sedation, symptom relief, and much more.

The common traits between delta-8 and delta-9 THC lie in both their chemical structures and names. For starters, delta-9 THC is short for delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol, while delta-8 THC is, respectively, short for delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol. Delta-8 THC can cause effects which resemble delta-9 THC—but these effects will not be as potent.

These days, virtually all delta-8 THC on the market is manufactured from hemp-derived CBD, which provides a legal gray area. As a result, delta-8 products provide a high that’s not only mellow, but legal, too (with some exceptions, more on this later).
