Reviving Chicago Community News

New generation journalists are in the forefront of efforts to improve local news coverage, and help to mitigate threats to the democratic process. Our goal is to find unprecedented resources to strengthen proven solutions, while removing long-standing inequities in the coverage of journalism and its practice.

Recent graduates and students recently inaugurated the Austin Harvest produce market at its permanent location this week. It brings artwork and a sense of community in an area once known for gun violence. The WBEZ's Jackie Kostek visited to speak to the founders of the market who outlined their purpose as more than providing food, but rather creating a more welcoming culture as part of their goal.
